CO2 E - RACE I KØBENHAVN 13. DECEMBER 2009

I et samarbejde mellem Københavns Kommune/Hopenhagen, Dansk Industri/Bright Green og Det Danske Kultur Institut/CO2 E - Race afholdes d. 13. december den danske version af CO2 E - Race "maleriet" i Københavns gader.

Kort beskrivelse af CO2 E - Race

CO2 E - Race er et projekt der siden begyndelsen af 2009 har været et aktivt initiativ for at i forskellige sammenhæng skabe information og bevidsthed omkring CO2 venlig transport. CO2 "maleriet" er en måde at involvere og vise borgere fremtidens transport og teknologi, hvormed de kan gøre en konkret forskel i deres personlige udledning af CO2.

Program for d. 13. december

•10:00 –12:00 : Opstilling af køretøjer på Vester Voldgade. Du vil også kunne gå ned til Dansk Design Center og se deres udstilling om Elbiler "Smart Use of Energy" frem til kl. 16.00.

•12:00 –14:30 : Køretøjerne fremvises for interesserede borgere

•14:30 –15:00 : Køretøjerne præsenteres enkeltvis af Henrik Milling fra P3

•15:00 –15:45 : Overborgmester Ritt Bjerregaard og Hjelte Tin holder tale og sender sammen bilerne af sted mod Frederiksberg Rådhus


•15:45 -16:30 : Ankomst til Forum og Bright Green messen – efter et kort ophold, tale af Finn Andersen, General Sekretær af Det Danske Kultur Institut, Kirsten Brøchner Direktør for Brøchner Hotels/CO2 Neutral Hotels og Jacob Fuglsang Mikkelsen fra CO2 E - Race. Derefter montering af GPS og lys af Mr. Green & Crew, kører bilerne videre ud i København som del af CO2 E –Race maleriet.



Bilernes tur vises LIVE via deres GPS på Hopenhagens Globe på Rådhuspladsen og inde i Forum på LED skærme.

•16:30 –18:00 : Bilerne kører i Københavns gader og ”maler” CO2 og afsluttes med at ende op ved HC Andersens Palads ved Rådhuspladsen og Tivoli. GPS tages af af Grøn Vision Crew og lyset gives i gave til bilen.


Galleri Rumkammerat holder fernissering med et udsnit af CO2 E - Race Projektets foto og film dokumentation, LIVE feed af CO2 maleriet, lyd og skulptur installationer.

THE CO2 E - RACE


The CO2 E-Race is a series of cultural events taking place in Copenhagen throughout 2009. The intent is to raise awareness in relation to the climate crisis and ways to solve it through technology.

The Vision

The vision is a future where transportation is run by renewable energy
sources and the climate crisis is under control because politicians, industry, media and consumers acted quickly and with foresight.

The project is initialized by The Danish Cultural Institute

”RELATIONAL ART”
According to Wikipedia

•Relational Art (or relationalism) is defined by Nicolas Bourriaud, co-founder and former co-director of Paris art gallery Palais de Tokyo as
"a set of artistic practices which take as their theoretical and practical point of departure the whole of human relations and their social context, rather than an independent and private space." Artworks are judged based upon the inter-human relations which they represent, produce or prompt.

•The artwork creates a social environment in which people come together to participate in a shared activity. Bourriaud claims "the role of artworks is no longer to form imaginary and utopian realities, but to actually be ways of living and models of action within the existing real, whatever scale chosen by the artist.“

•In Relational Art, the audience is envisaged as a community. Rather than the artwork being an encounter between a viewer and an object, relational art produces intersubjective encounters. Through these encounters, meaning is elaborated collectively, rather than in the space of individual consumption

HVORDAN? (in Danish)

•GPS: Hver bil får en farvekodet GPS der registrerer og ”maler” stregen i Københavns gader der "staver" CO2.

•Lys: Hver bil får et LED lys monteret på bilen der kan ses i gade billedet, så de bedre kan genkendes og fanges på film.

•Online: Man kan følge ”maleriet” live online på www.tractrac.dk og andre relevante sites.

•Storskærm: ”Maleriet” vises live på storskærm via nettet for publikum, inde i FORUM/Bright Green og på Rådhuspladsen/Hopenhagen LIVE.

•Interaktion: Borgere opfodres til at tage billeder af bilerne der kører rundt i gaderne med deres mobil telefoner og uploade dem på Google Maps ("geotagging"). Dette vil skabe et CO2 tegn med prikker på Google Maps.
CO2 ruten vil også blive malet på fortovet langs ruten så turen kan tages per fod før, under og efter den 13 december.

•Dokumentation: Fotografer dokumenterer CO2 turen den 13 december. Billederne bruges til at digitalt strikkes sammen til et 3D virtuelt bylandskab.

•Panorama billede: Et panorama billede over København bliver produceret der kan vises online og som del af den senere udstilling i New York 2010.

INSPIRATION FROM THE STREETS OF PARIS

THE COPENHAGEN CO2 E - RACE PAINTING

December 13th 2009



The CO2 E - Race Project is inspired by the Bison Cave paintings.


In the stone ages, it is said that the way early man dealt with fear and challenges, was to paint them on the walls of the cave they lived in as a community .
The first registered art we have found is the painting of the Bison ox. The Bison ox gave them food and warmth, but was also a very large and dangerous animal.
By identifying and illustrating the “challenge”, they could touch, look, throw stones and talk about the image to physically and mentally confront it in their daily life together with the rest of the members in the cave. In following the early humans and their natural instinct to deal with the challenges of their time with the tools and colors available to them; the CO2 E - Race will paint an issue on our minds in order to illustrate one of the main challenges the human race is currently confronted with.

Copenhagen is the wall, the GPS the paint and the CO2 friendly cars the tools.
